It's more or less the original, within the very specific niche of modern text editors in 2020.

I consider it to be a tad behind the times and lacking in plugins, but it's still great!

They do however want you to pay for your license...

There's no pay wall, so they're not forcing you; but ethically I'd prefer to use something else.
