Mac automator is very much what it sounds like.
A desktop app for automating various tasks on Mac OS 10+.
It can run applescript, bash, zsh, watch folders for changes, and even record and play back user actions.
It's a bit slow, but none the less nifty.
If what you're trying to automate only needs to work for mac users, this is often the most direct path to success.
